Good memories of our first week on Wallstrip. Here’s the original flash show:

With Adobe launching a videocentric iTunes, Flash is poised to take on even more prominence in the marketplace… now if we could just get him to put on some pants.

Fresh competition for Flash is emerging in the form of Microsoft’s new SilverLight technology. It’s only just seen a v1.0 release, so obviously has a long, long way to catch up Flash’s install base, but expect it to spread fast, since MS have delivered exactly what the tech community were looking for. Silverlight allows very impressive, complex, websites to be created with minimal effort, including the multimedia and dynamic graphics typical of Flash applications. It runs on any browser (Apples’ very recent Safari for Windows excepted, for the moment) and is not limited to Windows operating systems, so Mac users (and even Linux users like me) aren’t left out in the cold.

Awesome! - everytime I thought of one that you missed it would be the next one you did.
People in my office are looking over at me wondering why i’m laughing like an idiot! I’ll let ‘em know.

That was awesome! Truly Hilarious!

I think, this is by far my favorite episode! Well played, Flash, well played.

Let’s be clear.
Microsoft is in NO way Wallstrip worthy, silverlight or not.
John Hartley —are you trying to be banned …keep it up

Be, Rainbow Boy could, incomplete he seems.

That Flash guy is hilarious. Has he done anything else? He looks familiar.

Lindsay just blew my mind with FLASHbacks to 8th grade English class.
Was that a dangling preposition I saw, in today’s episode?

Luddites for Brent Rose!
howard lindzon // Jun 27, 2007 at 3:17 pm

Hey Howard - I’m not saying MS is WS-fodder (I’m a Linux zealot, remember?) I’m just thinking out loud about Adobe’s competition, which has made a big splash in the tech community last couple of weeks, so I thought it deserved a mention, is all.
Lindsay: Wait until I break out with the nested parenthesis.
Love y’all.
howard lindzon // Jun 27, 2007 at 4:59 pm
just busting your chops. adobe ’s stock acts vulnerable lately so there may be something to the competition.
maximo zeledon // Jun 27, 2007 at 5:01 pm
That was absolutely hilarious and it paints a perfect picture regarding Flash and the Macromedia Adobe merger.
Don’t apologize Jonathan because you are on the money in regards to MS. Not everything MS does is evil (although they do plenty of evil)…Visio Studio for example is a great product. I’m also Linux guy now, so I do take a neutral stand.
Jonathan Hartley // Jun 27, 2007 at 5:30 pm
Oh, I can take it Howard.
Maximo, don’t go getting all neutral on me - we have to go take over the World, remember? Although with a penguin mascot it might take a while yet…

Luci B // Jun 27, 2007 at 8:28 pm
Best episode ever. It really captured the zeitgeist! Flash is hilarious. His fans need to see more of him.
maximo zeledon // Jun 27, 2007 at 8:36 pm
Hey, at least we have a cute mascot. Penguins are hardcore…Resilient even in extreme conditions.
maximo zeledon // Jun 27, 2007 at 8:37 pm
Yeah, the Flash guy is great. His facial expressions had me on the floor.
Kristie // Jun 28, 2007 at 7:30 am
Flash should have his own show. I think Brent will be a really big name someday soon. He is just plain hilarious!
