Happy 5-months in advance. I don’t know about anyone else, but I sure wouldn’t mind if I stopped seeing the ugly crocodile boots on everyone’s feet. :-P

I think Lindsay would be adorable in pajamas.

And yeah, those scorpions are a problem here also. Ambien is some wacky stuff.

Happy Wednesday (or is it Thursday?!).

Congrats on 100 episodes. Howards comments about negativity are spot on. I once took out my internet machine gun after being overcome by the negativity (I also can’t stand Suze but that’s another story) for that I must apologize…

There are lots of “smart” guys out there that can articulate the bear case but in the end the resilience and ingenuity of our business leaders keep us climbing higher and higher.

        Here’s to another 100 episodes.

I also added discipline to the blog post below the show. Eddie had a great post. The market will expose your weakness. That’s it’s job.

Douk Kass sent me his Harley Article and i thought (he ok’d) I should post some snippets (it’s behind the street Insight paid wall:
            “”"
It remains investment community’s general belief that the subprime
lending mess is a fluke that will be contained.

I have stressed the likelihood of contagion.

            “Neither a borrower nor a lender be;
For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.
This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.”
            – William Shakespeare, “Hamlet”

            also important…

Thirty-day delinquencies (and loss trends) in Harley-Davidson’s receivables
book (courtesy of Lehman Brothers) give a clear picture that credit quality
issues are broadening out as HOG’s receivable experience has begun to trace
a pattern of deterioration that we first began to see in subprime mortgage
loans during the first half of 2006.

As I mentioned yesterday, Harley’s finance subsidiary (HDFS) funded almost
half of Harley-Davidson’s motorcycle loans. Like subprime mortgage loans,
HDFS’ hog loans are pooled and securitized to institutional buyers.
Unfortunately — in credit trends and terms — HDFS is also beginning to
look more and more like *New Century* (NCBC), *Fremont* and *Accredited Home
Lenders* (LEND) did in early 2006.

He is short Harley by the way :)

Well, if you got HOG like we did when it was 14…
And I’m happy to sell our remaining shares, but its a stock club. Where we do our best research under the influence of wine & food.
