      What you said about the guy “just forgetting his id” is not the entire story. He did not comply with the security personnel requests to leave the premises. It is well known in that library that you have to show student id at night when they make sweeps there. It is posted.

      The guy’s website also has the following quote - “I like to find the most difficult solutions to the simplest of problems”

      They probably had the guns in low stun mode, ’cause if they were in high power mode, he wouldn’t be putting up a struggle requiring multiple hits.

        even if he did not comply with the security requests, why didn’t they just put handcuffs on ? Would have been too simple, I know. And of course there is more fun in “tasing” someone.

              Very interesting show, good work. Concerning the taser topic, I am still not sure if they are good or bad.
              On the one hand they possibly really can save a life, e.g. when the alternative would be to shoot you. And I think it is also saver to use a taser, instead of beating the shit out of someone.
              However, on the other hand “non-lethal weapons” tend to be used more often, than lethal weapons and they should be only used as if they are a lethal weapon. This means, as in the case of the student, they start to use it in every situation, even if it would not be necessary or they just want to, because it makes their job easier.
              And this makes me feel, that the state and police forces are deciding what is “best” and not the people anymore.

              But in the end, I certainly think it is beser to taser someone, instead to kill someone.

                I’m not comfortable with them making light on such a serious subject - it came across to me like a form of conditioning us. Google these terms “taser gun abuses” and you’ll see police are no longer there to serve and protect.

                        Give Lindsey a break….sometimes in the entertainment biz you have to pander to your audience, even if it means glossing over the truth (which is likely very boring).

                        Of course he wasn’t tasered “for forgetting his ID”, but how boring would it have been if she would have said he got tasered because he was not-compliant, refusing to leave and physically belligerent with officers…..and because the officers handled the situation terribly with 8 low-level shocks instead of one high level shock or better yet, just physically removing him from the area by out muscling him and throwing his ass to the curb.

                                        Joking aside - I am a strong believer in taser the product.

                                        Obviously in the wrong hands a bb gun is dangerous, but despite them being shamelss promoters, police love them and they have tough freaking jobs.

                                        Seems like a taser is better than a knife wrt damage inflicted.

                                                If the alternative is rubber bullets, nightsticks, fists, or 6-cell Maglights, I’ll take the taze, please.

                                                Also, I’d rather be terrorized in my home by a tazer than a Saturday night special, given the choice.

                                                    The Taser is best for the police to use for protection than hand guns. More lives are being saved this way - than using the hand gun. And, certainly a night stick will not provide the defense the police need.

                                                        All these people who are trying to sue Taser (TASR) are loosing. Why? Well it is far better to be hit with something from which you will quickly (normally) recover, than to be shot, which more often than not results in death or permanent injury.
