Ruby Tuesday is taking the phrase “out with the old, in with the new” to a new level. The restaurant chain blew up it’s last old building today, celebrating the completion of their remodeling project.
They showed the demolition at 3pm today on RubyTuesday.com.
Perhaps it’s in poor taste to blow up a building right now (as businesses continue to blow up every day), but Ruby Tuesday’s doesn’t seem to care. Hey, it’s a pretty good publicity stunt. They’re getting press, and they didn’t have to go bankrupt to do it.
Here’s more, from KnoxNews.com:
- On its Web site today at 3 p.m., the Maryville-based Ruby Tuesday is encouraging folks to “watch us blow up the last old Ruby Tuesday” in a live demolition.
- With “The End is Near” and a time bomb on pictured on its site, a video preview shows someone smashing one of those Tiffany lamps you used to be able to find at any Ruby Tuesday.
- There are more than 900 Ruby Tuesday restaurants across the country.
