Dinner for two at Outback is more expensive than filling up a tank of gas….

Why the surprise? When I was in high school (1979-1982) teachers told us we’d pay $4 for a gallon of gas someday.
I haven’t owned a motor vehicle in 13 years, so I guess it was kind of an interesting to observe reactions to gas prices in this show.

Let’s raise prices and join the rest of the world is paying. People in Europe and Asia aren’t riding bicycles because gas is cheap like it is in the states.

New Yorkers probably drink more water than they burn gas… And California will always pay more for gas because there is no gas pipeline from east of the Rockies to the Pacific. Also because most of the Alaskan crude ends up in California and the West Coast… Alaska crude is some of the most expensive in the world to produce.

Well, in theUSA the price is still well below the peaks of the late 1970’s in terms of percent of income for fuel used or in terms of inflation. Probably will take $8 gas within the next couple of years to really impress the need for nuclear power to support electric vehicles and strip mining for lithium.

Forgetaboutit, great show. Gas prices are getting out of control, but until there is a viable alternative that does not inconvenience the consumer I don’t see anything changing. Electric seems like the most energy efficient and least pollutant of the current alternatives, but much less profitable for Exxon.

“Whatever it takes… ” what a great comment on how much we will pay for something so we don’t have to change.

If you want a real eyebrow raiser, visit a marina and see what we are charged per gallon to fill our boats. I fill when tanks are about 1/2 empty this last time it took 112 gallons at $4.90 per gallon. It wouldn’t hurt as much if the the fish were biting!

Gas, milk, credit, health care…what isn’t out of control. Oil is a total bubble, but when is it going to pop. So should I just buy crude as far out as I can and watch my money grow?

It’s good to see the Exxon attendant in NYC has a much better grasp on oil/gas market dynamics than 95% of the people writing or delivery mainstream media news…..
