Your hot honey but you have no idea what your talking about… but then again you don’t fit the demographics of a typical XM or Sirius listener… sorry that they forgot you when choosing the content… i guess you don’t matter.

[…] Today, Wallstrip catches up with the two dog stocks . […]

NASCAR AND Bob Dylan? In MY car? No way. Had an exposure to XM when I bought my car, and I really don’t see why people would want to pay for radio. Merger no one really cares about indeed.

18 million subscribers say differently… also go to the FCC website and look at the public comments for proceeding 07-57 and see how many people care. Get a grip on reality.

18 million subscribers that would stream for free and pay for ads if they could and not some ceo who spends shareholder monies like a drunien sailor.

Satellite radio is here to stay the Radio stations are the ones that should be worried they are the 8 tracks and cassettes of our times its not about the merger or even the battle of xm over sirrius its about the programing

Yeah I guess a company that almost had gross receipts of 1 billion for 2007 and put many people to work with a NEW idea could be considered useless, but I think they will be around much longer than AL Gores climate crisis. It took along time for some to give up their IBM selectrics too. Terrestrial radio is feeling the pain also, look at their advertising revenues for the year…wayyyy downnnn… and they have no one to blame put the poor useless satellite companies? This video and analysis is only good for me to…………. poop on!

BUSINESS WISE SMART MOVE FOR BOTH OF THEM JUST NOT SURE HOW MUCH IT WILL COST THEM TO MAKE BOTH SERVICES COMPATIBLE.

  • Jack Meoffer // Apr 18, 2008 at 10:57 pm

I remember when people thought paying for cable was stupid. We all see what happened there. Satellite radio is the future of entertainment, not lame internet newscasts with the female version of Ryan Seacrest. Death to Clear Channel, Howards gonna mop the floor with you

  • Russ // Apr 19, 2008 at 12:36 am

Selfishly, I can’t wait for these companies to merge and offer eachother’s programing to both
Sirius and XM subscribers… and if that is not the plan, then I am against it.

I have XM in one car, Sirius in another plus my boat, and Sirius at my lake house (where there is no regular reception).

Music is fine. Comedy channels are great. Playboy channel is off the chart.

That guy Howard is so last century.

Satellite Radio is the future, Terrestrial Radio
the past. Attraction/gravitation to SR by media/
news and entertainment, as well as potentially
by all consumers, will move that 19 million paid-
subscriber number into 100’s of millions in
rapid time, once content is consolidated — once
the FCC releases its blessing. The DOJ/FCC are
well aware of SR’s value/necessity throughout
the nation — to all corners of the nation where
TR is extremely limited, unless you count static.
TR is all but dead, but is liable to stick around
    like local network TV.

*Disclaimer, I own Sirius Stock. I bought it because I Love the service and its potential

Wallstrip writers and producers of this video must not listen to Satellite Radio because it is NOT useless. I have been a subscriber to Sirius for over 2 years now and am VERY satisfied. You have basically put down everybody who subscribes to Satellite radio as a nobody because “No one really uses it (satellite radio)”. So 18 MILLION combined subscribers are “Nobody”? You guys only have 7,000 hits on Youtube for this video…

My JVC satellite radio receiver just crapped out on me and I now realize how much I Hate terrestrial radio with all the same music and commercials they play. I REALLY MISS MY SATELLITE RADIO. I’m getting a new receiver today.

Wallstrip, go report on something more true and do your proper research instead of kicking an AWESOME medium when it is down. Do you realize how much synergy and new business will be created when the merger does go through? Do you think that after the merger goes through that XM/Sirius are going to stop innovating ways to get more subscribers?; Lay down and die? Bad journalism and, btw, not funny. You guys should take some pointers from the Onion and John Stewart. Nice try tho.

I said I like Sirius and XM…. but those who think regular radio is dead are wrong. Especially AM radio… for example: here in LA when the fires hit so many areas, the people needed their AM radios to learn where to go and what roads were open. AM news is how everyone here learns what it going on. AM talk is where everyone here learns what others are thinking about the items in the news. Commericials are a total win-win. Stations need the money. Advertisers need the business. Listeners need the goods and services.

  • howard lindzon // Apr 21, 2008 at 1:05 am

this site is about stocks…I am suggesting you stay away from the useless common stock.

  • Jason // May 2, 2008 at 9:53 am

The only way satellite radio survives is if both of the following happen…1) they create “DVR” for radio, so if you miss the first 20 min of a talk show, you can go back and listen and 2) it must be portable. Home, office, car wherever…users must be able to take it with them.
