    Wallstrip,

I have been watching your program for some time, and couldn’t quite put my finger on why I wasn’t happy with the switch of hosts - until today. I realize you should not make comparisons, but when Lindsay presented a topic, though scripted, you got a sense of real emotion, a sense of honesty that she believed what she was saying - and I think it was reflected in the amount of comments (excluding the moronic comments about host body parts) to each story.
With Julie, you have a “reporter” reading a script, yet with an insincere manner, style and tone in her delivery. Her attempts at quirky humor just don’t seem to fit, and I question whether she really knows about her subject, or just reads a teleprompter!? While she has a good presence and good vocal skills, perhaps her delivery would be best accommodated by less “tongue in cheek” and more just straight reporting. Even you have to notice that the amount of comments are far less, and the content of those comments rarely address the company being discussed.
I think you have tried to recreate a program based on Lindsay’s style, with someone who has a style of her own, and I do not believe it is working. I do not look forward to Wallstrip each morning as I used to!

Just updated my queue last week after sitting on 3 movies for about 3 months. Been busy. Netflix picked up the over on me the last few months. Current queue includes: No Country For Old Men, There Will be Blood, We Own the Night

Although…I’m digging hulu now. Sign of things to come.

Hulu is fantastic - even the ad model is unobtrusive.

Fox also has a great TV for web model (or simply not) - full episodes, great quality, often without ads. http://www.fox.com/fod/

Hey John M. Actually the comments as well as our viewership have increased since Julie took the reins. Appreciate you letting us know how you feel, but we think Julie is doing an amazing job. I think it’s time you found another webshow. Sincerely, Wallstrip.

oooooh, did somebody say something about THE WIRE?

  • Pedro Sousa // Mar 21, 2008 at 9:46 am

It’s interesting that Netflix has managed to improve its outlook even when “sharing” movies online for free has been as easy as sharing MP3 music. Great show! I miss the Friday interview though.

  • JK // Mar 22, 2008 at 5:44 am

    Hi Julie
Your hair looks great I like it
I like your humor as far as I am concerned it hits the nail right on the target I love to watch you presenting the walls of wallstreet in an easy way of going keep up the good work

  • jim adler // Mar 22, 2008 at 10:57 am

No End in Sight, Rocky Balboa, Jet Li’s Fearless

If you had to walk in the snow, uphill, both ways, to a Blockbuster to get The Wire it would be more than worth it - best tv drama ever.

And times must be good at Wallstrip if you can tell viewers who take the time to comment to love it or leave it.

  • McLarty // Mar 22, 2008 at 7:00 pm

I only got one thing in my Q…

Wallstrip DVD box set - “The best all time highs”

    John M, get a life…Julie Rocks

  • Will S // Mar 23, 2008 at 4:11 pm

I love netflix. Movies on demand rock. No need to even wait a day. Check out District 13 or King of Kong. I usually end up keeping DVDs for 4 months, but I try to watch a couple a week online.

  • Raider1 // Apr 16, 2008 at 1:12 pm

    Julie is Hot! :>}
