It is such a pity that the buyers of Wallstrip managed to strip the show of its best things. Content lost its wit and creativity. The new presenter dress code makes you wonder if you logged on to a Latino girls’ website…

Some of my friends also think the show is over.

          Oh Dolemite, you crazy mofo.

Hmmm, I’m trying to think of something controversial to say so we can have prolonged and thoughtful discussion like on MobLogic.

… nah, I think in this case I’m content being entertained lol

And I thought Tivo was close to the hole… Good episode, Julie gorgeous as allways, good job!

The only poeple having prolonged and thoughtful discussions on Moblogic are the bloggers… I still don’t get why we should care what 12 random people on the street think about… anything.
And Tivo was his name oh!

You can think whatever you want about the content and its creativity, but to imply that a “latino girls’ website” is a bad thing is just racist and wrong. And you obviously have no fashion sense. Julie is hot and so are Wallstrip’s views. It’s far from over, but hopefully your hateful comments are.

I’m confused; you can use a crackberry as a TiVo remote? RIMM and TIVO synergy? Interesting concept.

                    From the first commenter:

I couldn’t agree more. The new chick has no personality and has a boring delivery. Definitely a thumbs down. Oh, and her imitation of a Tivo was really annoying.

I happen to like Julie and think Wallstrip is here to stay. As a guy who bought tivo last year (under $6 - woot!) I was a little disappointed that today’s show didn’t mention that the company is a) now providing information to advertiser clients on what users are watching b) rolling out set top boxes through comcast & others in new markets (very slowly - but still it’s starting c)generating some income through its Unbox ties with Amazon and d)in a deal with youtube/google to enable tivo users to acces and watch youtube content (maybe this was announced after you made the show - free pass here)

so I am long TIVO but still think it’s a year before the company turns a profit - but here’s to when it does

                        WallStrip is entertaining.
Julie is adorable… no matter what she is wearing.

MobLogic is boring (I don’t care what random NYC people have to say about anything.)
Lindsay is fun… and might do even better if she got implants.

Other than CBS owning both, why is MobLogic’s link on my WallStrip RSS page? Why is WallStip’s link not on my MobLogic RSS page?
(I am about to delete MobLogic, btw.)

                        • Bert 8 months ago

I always thought Lindsay worked because her personality disarmed the stuffed shirts she was interviewing. Wall street is uptight and Lindsay mocked that. MobLogic? What crap. I can’t even watch Lindsay do that garbage. Healthcare of native American? They have got to be kidding. This is the web, not PBS.

Julie? She’s OK, but that’s not quite good enough. Is it?

                          • howard lindzon 8 months ago

wallstrip is about ideas…always will be. read the blog. moblogic is about conversation. it is good to see people so up in arms, but you don’t have to like them both or neither. the commets are still juvenile.

a simple thumps up, thumbs down will do people

                            • Russ 8 months ago

WallStrip seems to have half as many ideas as before…. running every other day instead of everyday.

And if I weren’t “juvenile,” I’d just be working at my computer instead of viewing entertainment.

                              • howard lindzon 8 months ago

russ…it’s about good ideas. When the market sucks, you do less, not more.

also - the crew is busy building moblogic so you will have to deal for now :)

                                • blah blah blah 8 months ago

Enough already with the “new chick” thing. I still soak up every episode I can and it is as good as when that other girl did the show.

I think the show is looking cookie-cutter now. Once they start throwing in some new ideas, the level of excitement will pick up…and if they don’t then shame on them.

If the crew is busy on moblogic then get another crew for WallStrip. If you can’t afford one, then just dump it.

Wow! And I thought people still had manners, evidently not! I guess it might be better that you hide behind the anonymity of the internet comments section because otherwise you might let people in on the fact that you are an ***#!&hole. Also that you lack the ability/sensibility/intelligence to use the web and this site as more than a middle school platform for racist/childish and just plain rude commentary.

Maybe you should return to gawker! Well, Julie as a host is a witty, talented, smart woman (full of sass) that makes me laugh, and took over Wallstrip at a time of a pretty crappy economy. And yes pretty crappy economy is an official term… :) http://www.wallstrip.com/2008/01/31/1-31-08-vice-stocks/

Obviously the team at Wallstrip/Moblogic are producing top notch web video and I typically look for a higher standard of commentary of the viewers that watch (I am idealistic what can I say?).

Thanks to Jim Adler’s comment for actually commenting on the show and his insights on Tivo.

Howard, perhaps you can do a show on seed money venture capital funds. In the past, seed money was all risk, if you invested in one startup you had a 95% chance of loosing it all, if you invested in 100 you had a very good chance of loosing 95% of it, and making far more money on the other 5% than you invested.

Now that sounds like the stock market in general, so this may be a good time to make the investment if you can spread the risk.

I’m sure there are publicly traded seed money VC’s out there, and IMHO highlighting the best performing ones would make a great WallStrip.

As for Julie, if you look at her pre-WallStrip work on the web, you see someone with a lot more enegry and passion than you do now. It seems to me that she is constrained by the material. Find her writers that really do “click” with her and we all will be a lot happier.

If you are too busy working on MobLogic, then try giving her more “creative control”. She did a good job before WallStrip when she had to “wing it”.

                                      Geoff.
