    Julie,

    The reason people talk about your hair, etc, is that you are still seen as “not Lindsay”, not as Julie. IMHO you need to settle on a “Julie look” and a Julie style of presentation and make Wallstrip your own.

    I also think the writers need to work with you on humor. Jokes that worked for Lindsay fall flat when you do them. I’m sure you could do well if you had material better suited for you.

    Don’t loose heart, keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing what you do in the future.

    BTW, I’m paraphrasing my wife who commented to me that your outfits detracted from the message, and more modest clothing would give you a more professional appearance.

      I didn’t get to watch many episodes when Lindsay was hosting the show (besides the JSDA one that she did), but if it’s worth anything, I think you’re doing a fantastic job! It’s entertaining and some good stock ideas. Keep up the good work over there!

        Ignore the puritan weirdo above, he wouldnt know funny if it slapped him with a cream pie. Remember when the TV news casters come on we still think, “Shes fine” and “Nice tits” its just we have no where to comment on the BBC website to say as much ;-)

        If i were you i’d be more worried when people stopped saying it.

        I must say i had a very Bevis and But Head chuckle at the slot machine gag.

        That said however if your show was rubbish i wouldn’t watch it regardless of how fine you are, even if you did it Top Less ala Italian TV ………. well maybe actually, but you get the idea. Not that i am suggesting you do as i wouldn’t be able to concentrate on the actual report and i would end up watching it 20 times and then just listening to it like radio, it would take all day in fact just to get through one wallstrip, not a good idea for a web short.

        As for the show, good one, gambling doing well in bear markets, human nature is a funny one but it makes sense, tightening of belts all round except the get rich quick instinct.

          tho im quite new to wallstrip i do prefer Julie, it has to do whit appearance and the way she gives the presentation. There is no need for a more professional look. Keep up what you are doing. it is great!

                              Julie, I feel I may have started this debate with my cleavage comment a week or so ago. … since than you have started to show less…oh what a mistake, I should have kept my mouth shut.

                              Anyhow, keep up the good work and don’t think that we watch just because you are sexy…sexy is just a bonus. Keep leverage what you have to make the stories more entertaining.

                              As to the Lindsay comparison, don’t fret. You are both totally different and both sexy in your own way.

                                      Julie, you gotta remember people are watching you, not listening to you. I think you’d get the same response if you stared at the camera and said nothing for the whole show and then did the 2 second bit at the end. That’s what these losers want. Show some personality. No one want to see “Barbie does the news.” Especially in this bloodbath of a market.

                                      Mix in some of that fire inside of you with the boring ass shit they make you say and you’ll have a hit on your hands. We want to see the real Julie…your expressions when you did the meet the cast sketch was awesome. We want some of that back.

                                          Everybody is telling us this market is a bloodbath. Julie and the Wallstrip team are focused on whatever positive perspectives are still left. I see no reason to criticize her performance and debase her valiant efforts simply because she happens to be pretty. Keep it up, Julie!

                                              As someone who commented on your new hairstyle I must apologize for it being received the wrong way; I just thought it looked nice and didn’t have anything to say about the stock that day because I couldn’t think of anything funny or interesting to add to the conversation. It would definitely blow to have a new job that you were excited about and feel objectified, so I’m sorry for contributing to that.

                                              I hope you stay yourself, especially in spite of whatever people say on the boards, because you’re doing a fantastic job and I wouldn’t change a thing.

                                                            Hopefully more people go and lose money in slot machines rather than in the stock market. That way at least someone (WMS shareholders) can benefit.

                                                            What WMS needs is a facebook slot machine app, that would bring in a nice chunk of change.

                                                            This market sucks, the only bright spot is Julie and Wallstrip.

In any event the podcasts are great. I’ve been happy with the adjustment, because really that’s all it is an adjustment, nothing more.                                                                         1. CCJ - great 5 year chart, shitty 1 year. But it’s because the stock is full of stories. I’m talking uranium leaking, international politics, mines flooding, strange named uranium deposits & lakes etc. Sooner or later, it will clear the ~$55 all time high, but its a stock full of controversy and stories. You’ll have to do your homework. I think you could make a funny, informative, show out of it. Trend = Uranium.

                                                                        2. VCP - probably a little bland, but still at stock at all time highs. Trend = The global economy needs paper, I don’t know, haha.

                                                                        3. …and when it gets back to $7 and/or listed on the NASDAQ, you have to do Sandvine (SVC.TO)! It’s a play on the internet growing too fast, amazing growth that Canadians haven’t bid up to the stratosphere yet. The downside risk is net neutrality. Trend = Accelerating Information Flow.

                                                                                          Would be interesting to see gambling revenues during times of economic/stockmarket slowdown or downturn even.

                                                                                          Part of me thinks that those comfortable grannies would shy away from the slots but the other part thinks even more people would throw a few coins into the slots in a chance bid to escape ‘harsher’ times.

                                                                                                      I have been a big fan of the show since Lindsay and am still just as interested now that you’re the host. I don’t regularly follow the comments nor I don’t know how you feel as you read them. Most importantly, I’m not aware of what your goals are for yourself as you take the helm of this show.

                                                                                                      Lindsay didn’t make much of a secret that she wanted a job with CBS. If she was looking for a position that put her in front of a camera, then Wallstrip was obviously a perfect opportunity for her. If you are looking for something similar, then this will likewise be a good opportunity for you. However, most “camera” jobs just don’t provide much of a chance for an audience to “get to know you” very well. Ironically, many of the “out-takes” and “skits” that Wallstrip did with Lindsay tended to show off an “angry” side of her that made her much less attractive to me (but everyone has their own taste…).

                                                                                                      As for you, your outward appearance (hair, outfit and…er, figure) are all wonderful and Wallstrip obviously found a keeper with you. However, as you get more opportunities to be somewhat “creative” with your delivery, people will have more opportunities to get to know you better. It will take take time but, if you’re patient, it will happen. Also remember…people are very fickle when you look at them in “bulk.” Try not to get too flustered by what you read in the comments.
