You summed up perfectly why I’ve stayed off sites like FaceBook and MySpace - the stalker factor!

The Dell’s gone…how sad.

The dell’s gone…how GLAD :)
Anthony Brown 11 months ago
Actually the stalker factor is a little lower in facebook, most people can only view the profiles of their friends.
I bailed out of MySpace last year with much frustration, but have recently rebuilt my online social network on facebook. and loving it.
Great episode, I think those green screen effects are the best you guys have done!

There’s nothing green screen about it - that is the Facebook matrix.

So whats wrong with strippers?
Ruport Murdoch 11 months ago
why do you have a problem with my ladies that work from home?

Is Facebook public yet? Or is it going to be public anytime soon?
howard Lindzon 11 months ago
It will likely be an IPO in 2008

I would’ve thought Howard would be more of a Frederick’s shopper; good thing facebook is tracking his every move or else I wouldn’t have known that. :-p
howard Lindzon 11 months ago
we had to actually clean it up abe. they somehow got hold of my visa

Are you saying that we should log-out of Facebook because it is useless? It is hard to take that comment seriously because while I watch your videos I keep seeing the Facebook Logo under SHARE. So it must be a powerful tool if you are asking me to use it to share your videos with friends. I would be interested to know how many hits your site gets from Facebook.

Mike, I think Alley Insider puts it best: http://www.alleyinsider.com/2007/12/facebook-like-myspace-with-add-minus-the-boobs.html

Mike - not I
I am saying that I have become apathetic to the service, but admit that I am not the market. There are plenty of amazing features
As to it being a powerful tool for wallstrip, no, but we do have an audience that watches within facebook. I think as with any audience, we have to work it more to get more out.

Friendster->MySpace->Facebook->Something Else
I still don’t see anything that would make me believe that Facebook is even worth the $240 million that Microsoft invested in them. Social networking sites have been around for years and years and I have yet to see anyone exploit one effectively enough to earn even a modest valuation. I also don’t see anything that sets Facebook apart from any of its past incarnations .
Somehow Lindsay looks better behind a Macbook than a Dell.

As I have long said - Coke or Amex would have been the best owners and just given it to the world with no ads. The goodwill in replace of ads to youth would have been cheap iver the long run. They missed their chance.
Abe 11 months ago
An ad-free facebook? Interesting, though I wonder if Coke really would have passed up the chance to display their brands all over the social network to potentially increase their market share in exchange for all the demographic data that could be gleaned from a hands-off “we’ll let the people we’re buying this from do it their way” sort of approach.

fwiw - the writers’ strike has caused exponential use of facebook in the entertainment community because we all have nothing to do. I play scrabulous with my agents, their assistants, and executives, find and keep in touch with people I’ve worked with, and waste time super poking people when I should be writing.
On the one hand, it’s cool to connect with people I would otherwise only speak to maybe once a month (or even once a year) especially as social networking is so vital in this business, on the other, maybe we’ll all just abandon it when it’s time to get back to work.

If “MySpace is for strippers that work from home” then Facebook is for college educated strippers that work from their dorms.

If poking was actually as entertaining as it is in this video, facebook would be a better site.

Facebook is secure! If you dont add them as your friend……they cant see your profile! Thats all! We took the same approach with our site for babies! Check it out! We are almost live…..http://www.babyspot.com

Yep, I inked it, then insisted on playing every role that wasn’t Lindsay, because I am a greedy, greedy bastard (and I hadn’t been on the show in a while). Glad people seemed to dig it. I think the whole Wallstrip team did a really great job with this one.
Good to be back,

I think facebook has a ways to go to catch up with Myspace. It is too bare and arrid. I dont think it is as convenient as Myspace either. Lets hope the companies they added to program for them do something great!
