                  Cepheid isn’t just about the MRSA test, but is a leader in bringing rapid genetic analysis via PCR near to the patient. The initial focus is on infectious disease, but has the potential to expand into personal genetics.

                  They could well establish the classic razor / blade model for hospital based PCR analysis. The first test on their instrumentation was Group B strep, followed by MRSA. HPV strain analysis is under development (nice transition from infectious disease to personal genomic IMO).
