I’m the Dude. So that’s what you call me. You know, that or uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you’re not into the whole brevity thing.

    ….the Dude abides

Nice simulation of the kite flying in a breeze, was Ansys software used to capture that effect?

Something that reminds me of college is usually a good thing, but today’s episode brought back horrible memories of setting up what seemed to be a perfect mesh, letting the sim run almost all day, only to come back to the workstation later and find out that it crashed 10 minutes after I left. THANKS…

That being said, ANSYS has some great software that is very useful in evaluating a design in the digital world, thereby minimizing the loss that would have been incurred testing a full prototype of what turned out to be a flawed design. This, of course, is a great advantage in the design process because many iterations of a design can be worked through in a much smaller timescale. You can also make some pretty pictures of the analysis to distract your manager from the fact that you’re no closer to a solution at that point than when you started, but I’d NEVER do that. ;-)

Howard: Is this a outward materialization of your inner desire to tell me to ‘Go fly a kite’?

That B-Dogg (or is it Dawg?)guy is friggin’ HEE-larious. I liked this one a lot… but, “computerated”? Seriously? That’s a word? That’s SO not a word. Quit effin’ with me.

              Great episode!

I forgot to send it to Howard, if interested there is a technical analysis video of ANSS on my blog http://www.alphatrends.blogspot.com

That installment was like, far out, man! Really blew my mind! I studied at the Maharishi’s ashram with B-Dawg himself. He tried to bogart my mantra…

I think Lindsay was great, and the guy playing B-Dawg was terrific…very funny! I look forward to the next one.

That guy cracks me up. I especially liked his awesome ninja moves and corncob pipe. Reminds me of a certain friend of mine from Wisconsin…

This is the best Wallstrip episode in a while. B-Dawg must become a recurring character.

I didn’t like the episode. Not that I’m complaning; I’m just grateful you guys post something fresh every day.

Wow, did Ansys pay for this spot. It is like a product placement commercial from the 50s.

                                      unfortunately we dont get paid.

I heard they are loosing people (real talent) like rats leaving a sinking ship from one of their recent buyouts…

fun and then accurate presentation of what ANSYS is about.

i work for ANSYS. it is challenging to explain what we do.

                                          • JohnM One year ago

Not Pawlak? You do a good job at presenting new releases (if it is you)
Seriously Ansys made a serious mistake taking over similar companies in the same field just to get market share. CFX and Fluent. Which may explain the rat comment above.
However the FE code is good and improving (mostly)

                                              funny video….
in any case, ANSYS is awesome.
I have a Master’s in Engineering and I have been using ANSYS technology for over 15 yrs.
I have applied ANSYS to everything from cellphone chips to 500′ steel structures.

If more companies used ANSYS, products would be “right” the first time.
It saves companies millions of dollars every month!
