The CBS blazer isn’t flashy enough, I like Stu’s jacket in this classic clip…

OK - the week of tennis was interesting, although clearly it is not Lindsay’s “thing.” Lindsay looks wonderful as always. However, is it just me, or did this week’s worth of Wallstrip amount to nothing more than Lindsay getting a chance to meet celebrities and “interview” for a new job? Where was any discussion of finance or stocks or something that relates to the purpose of this vlog? Don’t get me wrong - I like to be entertained, but with Wallstrip, I expect some discussion of finance and the stock market as part of the entertainment.
Sorry Lindsay - I think you are great, but this week wasn’t one of the best.
Howard Lindzon One year ago
Hi John - at times of market volatility it is best to do less which is what i write about all the time. The market is exactly where we started ast week.
Lots of finance coming.
Sorry you didnt like the week, but have to say that I was all for it and helped push it. They busted their ass to get this stuff done through all the crowds.

Today is a first.
The first Wallstrip I did NOT watch. When I saw Enberg and Carillo - yawn.
Must be vacation time for the Wallstrip writers.

I thought today’s interview was fantastic; the difference in polish and poise between a CEO and a long-tenured broadcaster is something I never noticed until today, so thank you.
That being said, I feel the line between jokingly referring to your CBS owners and outright cheerleading for them has blurred a bit. Maybe it’s just been a long week and I’m not getting it, but it seems like a bit much lately.

I hope you’re sell-out to CBS does not continue down this road. What’s next? Are you guys going to start showing “Guiding Light” previews?

Going Like Sixty—
I feel you, man. Dick Enberg is old media, but the man is still cool in my book. At least it’s better than watching the useless clowns on CNBC. Larry Kudlow was still talking about Goldie Locks this morning.
Lindsay Campbell One year ago
One of the more amazing things about doing a daily show is that your most loyal fans don’t seem to grasp that doing a daily show means doing a show…every…single…day. Sometimes you’ll love the things we come up with and sometimes you won’t. But there’s always tomorrow….
Thanks for watching!

Lindsay,
Hey, FWIW, I don’t come here for stock market analysis anyway! I come here because the show is fun to watch, you have great writers and editors, and because you’re not hard to look at in the morning. :)
You guys are great.
As for those concerned about Wallstrip “selling out” to CBS… they already DID! For $5 million!Who can blame them?
My blog is still for sale, BTW…Lindsay, let me know when you want to weekend blog.

Ok, people need to quit with the “sell out” talk. That might be the lamest term in American slang ever. Wallstrip is on every single day. Labor Day weekend gives them a serious hall pass to do something fun away from the markets.
This U.S. Open week was refreshing. Just to hear Dick Enberg talk about the fact that he knows that there are far more knowledgeable fans than him was very cool!
I wish Billy Packer could say the same. Which I hope you guys have big plans for March Madness!
Lindsay, I think its great that you care about the show enough to check these comments. But, if I were you, I would stop. Enberg said, “Be yourself.” Don’t waste your time and energy defending yourself.
This is a comment section and its America, so the majority of the comments are going to be negative no matter what. There are a ton of people who loved the show but didn’t have time to cheerlead on the comment section.
Do your thing and don’t look back….err…. look at this comment section.

Howard and Lindsay,
Thank you for your comments! While I appreciate the difficulties of doing a show every day of every week of every month . . . and so on, you have positioned this website and vlog to present topics of finance and stocks! If you decide to also make the site a place to interview celebrities, or attend sporting events, go for it. I’m just saying that you need to reposition who you are and what your “mission” is.
Hey - I think it was fun and mildly entertaining, but I did not watch expecting to see what I saw. I watched to see issues and information regarding the world of Wall Street.
Lindsay - I DO think the world of you and your talents, but I don’t think you are correct by stating your “fans” don’t appreciate or grasp doing a show every day. I completely grasp it, but know it was the path you chose to take and not forced into. And yes, some shows we love and some we don’t - but those decisions should be made on shows of the topics you espouse to showcase.
I guess the simple solution is changing the context of the show to be “whatever it is we want to showcase today” show, and nobody can complain.
That all said, I truly enjoy getting the email daily and watching Wallstrip’s take on the financial/stock world. And I believe Lindsay’s role is critical (just look at how off-track the weekend version is!).
I also appreciate your willingness to listen to this babble!!

A plus for this week’s hiatus, I didn’t loose any money.
Howard: a suggestion; a lot of the past picks are basing. A review if you think they’re still hot or not would be helpful.
You make it look so easy Lindsay. I didn’t know it was that hard.
Howard Lindzon One year ago
john - points well taken.
we should truly have asked enberg where he puts his money and his favorite stock at a minimum.
You will like us again shortly :)

@ LC - brilliant comment; I know there’s no way that I could possibly like EVERYTHING y’all come up with, but I do indeed enjoy an overwhelming majority, so again, keep up the good work.
I never felt that y’all sold out or anything. If anything it would seem that Howard sold WALLSTRiP so that LC could advance her career ;-)
Howard Lindzon One year ago
richard - will blog them all this weekend. cant believe how many we have done and some have tanked as well so yes i will do that
Howard Lindzon One year ago
regarding sell out - absolutely no way.
i love tennis. this is adam jeff lindsay and our playground still. getting behind the scenes of the us open would have seemed ridiculos when we started 10 months ago. amex is an unbelievab;e financial stock and we covered them, the rest was just us goofing during a shitty market where aimlessly plunging your money into stocks is something i despise people doing and preach against

The idea that we’ve somehow sold out to THE GREATEST NETWORK IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND, CBS… is just simply ludicrous.
Ahem, where my cocktail???

My 2cents but people who consider “selling out” a bad thing probably shouldn’t be actively trading stocks (because they tend to be raging against the machine at the local head shop during market hours).
Howard Lindzon One year ago
anybody thinking mr. enberg is looking like a cross between a boxer and mr. magoo?
BSD One year ago
Yeah he does! And for some reason in the still image Mary looks like she has a worse tan than Wallstrip’s Suze Orman.

The true test will come on a bear market. How do you produce compelling content on a downward market? The second-rate celebrity coverage works for a while, but this team will come up with something I’m sure of it. I’ve been following NUAN and it was doing great until today, but Howard called it–this stock will be hard to push down.
bruce One year ago
Lindsay, don’t worry, you don’t have to beg. Television will call your name soon enough.
Howard, you better start taking resumes for Lindsay II.
The show was a refreshing change. Sure you could have weaved a few stock questions in there. Live & learn, next time.
No biggie . All you stock nerds, chill out.

I don’t mind if every Wallstrip episode isn’t stock/business-oriented but I do think a whole week on just the U.S Open was overkill. Don’t get me wrong, there were some great moments (Asshe-AE commercial-sausage) but not enough to justify a three shows.
I certainly don’t think it’s selling out or cheerleading CBS and wouldn’t mind seeing Lindsay at the Final Four.
Or the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show…….. (also on CBS)

victoria’s secret show. now that would be an all-time high.

I get my Wallstrip fix everyday thanks to the RSS feed to MyYahoo. For me, it is entertainment, Lindsey, business knowledge, Lindsey, stock info to check out, Lindsey, and reading the mob’s comments after watching a show.
I am on my 5th pair of Crocs. Fianlly tossed 1 pair I wore out. Damn, I wish I bought the stock. It would have made up for some of the stocks I did buy watching Wallstrip that didn’t do well.
I know you will continue doing great shows, so count on me to be a fan.

I’ll watch Lindsay interview anyone anytime, CBS blazer or not…lighten up viewers!
