That is why I can’t wait to get to my email each morning!! Excellent concept for presenting a topic that nobody else has been able to do. How could anyone ever be anything but LONG on Wallstrip. And Lindsay, what can I say . . . I’m in love!

I’m short Wallstrip. Wallstrip is a loss leader. Leading to what? Brick and mortar, “Blah-blah” commercials? The Wallstrip concept is excellent, quick, attractive, and light on its feet. Brick and mortar will weight it down and sink it. Some paint, some buy paintings, some don’t know the difference. Put on a white painter’s outfit David. Stand in front of a blank, white brick wall. Paint a condor, morph it into an iron condor. Just think what you could do with a butterfly. The Playboy calendar for a calendar spread. Get my attention!

Great episode! It’s nice to look at good-looking telling you about a stock. I like western union now that they are solely on dedicated to the money transfer business. I like the Mexico connection too–lot’s of money being wired back home allover Latin America. Western Union was never much of communications company anyway. This week in class we are covering patent controls and boy did Western Union fuck up way back by rejecting Bell’s offer to sell his telephone patent for $100K. Below is the Western Union memo. I’m sure even trend traders will appreciate the lack of vision.

                        Western Union memo, 1876.

In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell and his financial backer, Gardiner G. Hubbard, offered Bell’s brand new patent (No. 174,465) to the Telegraph Company - the ancestor of Western Union. The President of the Telegraph Company, Chauncey M. DePew, appointed a committee to investigate the offer. The committee report has often been quoted. It reads in part:

“The Telephone purports to transmit the speaking voice over telegraph wires. We found that the voice is very weak and indistinct, and grows even weaker when long wires are used between the transmitter and receiver. Technically, we do not see that this device will be ever capable of sending recognizable speech over a distance of several miles.

“Messer Hubbard and Bell want to install one of their “telephone devices” in every city. The idea is idiotic on the face of it. Furthermore, why would any person want to use this ungainly and impractical device when he can send a messenger to the telegraph office and have a clear written message sent to any large city in the United States?

“The electricians of our company have developed all the significant improvements in the telegraph art to date, and we see no reason why a group of outsiders, with extravagant and impractical ideas, should be entertained, when they have not the slightest idea of the true problems involved. Mr. G.G. Hubbard’s fanciful predictions, while they sound rosy, are based on wild-eyed imagination and lack of understanding of the technical and economic facts of the situation, and a posture of ignoring the obvious limitations of his device, which is hardly more than a toy… .

“In view of these facts, we feel that Mr. G.G. Hubbard’s request for $100,000 of the sale of this patent is utterly unreasonable, since this device is inherently of no use to us. We do not recommend its purchase.”

Awesome episode, came close to topping the JBX one. Lindsay needs to use that cowpoke accent more often, it balances-out that harse cityfolk tone.

This commentary board has turned into a congratulatory platform rather than a discussion on actual stocks. Maybe that’s the actual purpose, so forgive me if I’m wrong. I love the format and Lindsay and the entire crew, but a little depth would b greatly appreciated. There is more to stocks than buying low and selling high.

This episode was written by Brent Rose (a.k.a. Flash) and that handsome cowboy is frequent Wallstrip actor and writer, John Behlmann.

                                    As for defending myself:

                                    1) I’m not pregnant (that I know of). Flowy tops are in y’all. Get used to it.

                                    2) My horse was TROTTING, y’all. Duh.

                                    3) We weren’t even using a teleprompter! Sorry, y’all.

Not much to being a technician Max, just get on ‘em and ride. As for the fundamentals, wouldn’t WU be bleeding America dry by facilitating the transfer of money out of the U.S. to Mexico? But, with the globalizing of the hourly workforce, maybe they’re on to something, transferring money from London to Belgrade, Le Mans to Tehran, Seattle to Jaipur. Will WU be a Forex trader? How about Ebay? I buy a watch from Ling Chow. He takes it to his local WU in Singapore, they verify it’s a watch, give him my money and UPS me the watch. Is UPS in Singapore?

Lindsay, Great episode but I must tell you that I saw you in some “feminine” product commercial and it kind of skeeved me out. You were wearing too much make-up and the topic doesn’t go with your personality. But I guess it pays the bills. Keep up the good work cowgirl.

                                          • Lindsay Campbell One year ago

Miles, birth control isn’t usually considered a “feminine” product. In fact, we gals wouldn’t ever need it if it weren’t for y’all. :)

As for the topic not “going with my personality”…the topic is SEX, Miles, and that goes with all of our personalities, no? People who get skeeved out by sex skeeve me out.

All that said, thanks for watching.

Exactly Howard. Then why the sexual innuendos in the WU clip? You started it Howard. Keep thinking like that and you might as well change your weekend edition to Dub’yoo Street.

When I saw your face on the screen I was psyched that you were getting more exposure as I think you are a great talent and didn’t listen to the message. I am NOT skeeved out by sex.
