Love the clips - some of my all-time favorites - especially Dr. Strangelove and Team America. Well now that defense stocks are up - it is likely they will come back to the foxholes with changing voter moods. Massive govt. spending on defense (and homeland security employment programs) were critical after 9-11 to give a keynesian boost to a dead “world” economy. It should have been a no-brainer then to invest in defense. But, that crisis is over now and the trick is to slow the govt. spending again. I think the next good investment in defense stocks is in the China defense industries.

[…] Let’s hope he’s wrong, about the future. He’s right about the trend, though I tend to think in terms of cycles rather than trends and so have some sympathy with Vic, who commented on the video: Well now that defense stocks are up - it is likely they will come back to the foxholes with changing voter moods. […] WallStrip covers today the Defense Industry - I don’t like Lindsay’s military uniform, but hey, she gets the point across. […]

Lindsay looks like Matt Damon in Courage Under Fire. I’m afraid…

A decent salute, better than most civilians.
But the upper lip needs to be stiffer.

Damn I love you guys.
You’ve finally made stocks interesting for me.
Why can’t everything about investing be this much fun?!?!?! Keep up all the great work.
So when does “Wallstrip pt.2″ launch advising us all of up and coming stocks?

Durka Durka -
Good stuff yet again. I think there is still room for growth even at this point. Between arguments for rebuilding the military and our govt’s inability to resist spending there will likely still be contracts galore for the forseeable future. The most likely bump in that road? My guess would be a round of “$400 toilet seat” stories like we had back in the 80s - something that might trigger more scrutiny and create uncertainty. LMT just got in trouble with a shipbuilding contract: maybe its starting.

I do like the uniform.
But the research department here let you down a bit.
“LMT scored a bit hit with the F117A 10 years ago”?
The production run was 1981-1990. This contract was signed during the Carter administration.
“Boeing’s stock has been on a tear since 2003. (FoxNew clip of Iraq) I wonder why?”
Boeing’s defense work is marginally up in this time period (11 - 14 billion). A look at a near tripling in the commercial backlog and Airbus woes probably have more to do with this.
NOC’s KC-30 refueling business?
That’s news from WallStrip! It’s a proposal. There is no contract. NOC has thretened to back out of even submitting a bid! The chance of an Airbus refueling plane (the KC30 is based on an Airbus A330) being purchased by this congress is about zero.
I do like the show, and will keep watching. But I think facts are good too.
