I’m with you on the Crocs. No thanks.

I think that last scene may need a disclaimer.

Dora, SpongeBob - all wearing Crocs. WOW!!!!

I think Ron Snyder should wear a Crocs pair to the “Opening Bell” and say ” Nice Shoes…. “!

“Can you please take a look at my favorite product… CROCS?”

                          Awesome show today guys…top shelf.
                          Now that’s not a croc…

I think you need a litle wider studio for the flying scenes…

And it would appear that the people at Crocs are not content with the average consumer. Apparently somebody realized that the antibacterial material would be beneficial to athletes as well:

matthew - did not know that. Thats interesting for sure. I assume all of canada wears it as I know my hockey bag is a breeding ground for bacteria.

After working in Operating Rooms in the 90’s I just can’t bring myself to try them on. I know it was the medical staff back then wearing clogs that has killed me to ever trying crocks. My kids love them, say they are uber comfy, my wife won’t wear them, but says they sure are comfy. Who knows. Fad yes, lasting maybe.

crox underwear coming. Pre holed. makes sense.

That last scene reminded me of Xanadu the movie. Imagine Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly on Crocs.

Thanks for the nostalgia - I remember that scene when Lindsay got her first pair of CROCS! Ha!

Before becoming a hedgie I briefly worked in fashion (hence my pet project- bsdcouture.com) and my industry knowledge is why I had returns well over 100% on TRLG (True Religion Jeans). I knew the Lubells who run the firm, understood their superb growth strategy and was certain of the potential of premium denim. Fortunately most analysts and traders were skeptical back then (as they are once again now), which gave me plenty of opportunities to buy in the dips and build up, taking a bit of profit with every squeeze.
For the same reason I was long TRLG I couldn’t stand being long CROX - I thought the shoes were horribly ugly and a fad. Shorted them at the first sign of failure last May (which turned out to be a decent trade) but then covered and kept ignoring the signals that it was rebounding. If I followed my charts and went long, that position would have put my TRLG gains to shame.
The moral of the story is that sector knowledge/personal bias can both help and hinder your judgment, so take yourself with a grain of salt.

Howard, your writing is usually flawless but those “knock-offs” you showed — the Mickey Mouse-holed Crocs — are the real deal. Crocs makes them in a licensing deal with Disney. FYI.
