By the way - I am not rich and when the Dow drops 400 points, I eat carbs.

One thing is for sure, if the race requires ANY kind of accuracy Howard loses.
I’d like to know what these guys’ brickbreaker high scores are. Last week CNBC did a story on executives’ addiction to that game.

Mike—Howard may lose points for accuracy…but this was a sprint. If anyone has ever hung out with Howard for a bulk of even a single day, you know his event is the blackberry marathon.

[…] Today’s Wallstrip features a Crackberry race among venture dudes. The new 8800 blackberry looks pretty lame to me. Definitely waiting for something 3G with video downloading and a camera. I mean, is it really too much to ask for a freakin camera on a $400 blackberry??? […]

Great show.
However, it did make me feel “bubblish,” being a shareholder of RIMM.
I’ll have you know, should RIMM start trading lower, I will hold you responsible for “jinxing” the stock– with your 1999-ish happy, happy RIMM skit.

For the 2008 championships, I want in and we need more description on what was being tested during the preliminaries.
First person to type “A man, a plan, a canal, PANAMA” and hit send?
Great commentary…poor set-up!
still one of the best wallstrip’s to-date!

2008 will be a triathlon - speedos and helmets
driving, talking to your wife and walking up fifth avenue at rush hour. Marc - you are welcome to submit your video
.
Here is the first round paragraph we had to type:
For Research in Motion, it has been a year of winning over the skeptics and hitting all time highs. After peacefully resolving their patent disputes and gaining surprising traction with the Blackberry Pearl, RIMM peaked in December above 142 and again in early January above 145. But when Steve Jobs announced Apple’s new and not even close to being released iPhone, RIMM’s stock dropped 20 points.

Impressive… How many typos were permitted?
[Creating video now.]
I’m using a 7100 w/ shared keys… Not sure if that is grounds for being DQ’d because it may or may not be a competitive advantage.
Next year you’ll need to have Pearl and non-Pearl divisions. This thing is going to be bigger than the lumberjack Olympics on ESPN 8 (The Ocho.) “If it’s almost a sport, we’ve got it here!”

Fred Wilson: His phone has been annoying him ten years longer than you. You loser. »TechAddress // Oct 19, 2007 at 4:32 am
[…] Know those phantom vibrations that make you check your phone even when no one’s calling? Venture capitalist Fred Wilson, who competed in a Blackberry race on video early this year for the stock show Wallstrip, tells CNN that he gets them, but in a way that makes him more important than you. “Of course I get them. I’ve been getting them for over 10 years since I started with the pager-style BlackBerry.” […]
