SNL’s got nothing on Wallstrip… ok, maybe a little. But with a stock like Jack in the Box (JBX) we just couldn’t resist. This show was a community effort, so some credit is due. Shane from WallStreetFighter came up with the concept and co-wrote the lyrics with us, Jason from LTM provided the soundtrack and vocals, and Amanda provided additional vocals. And a big thanks to the JBX employee who just couldn’t get enough of our camera. If you don’t get the joke, check out the hilarious original.

OMG! Best parody of that since “Box in a Box”!

Great episode, one of the best so far. But where is the baseline?
kj // Jan 29, 2007 at 10:14 am
Too funny.
Why I remember back in the day when WS just reported on stocks…then episode by episode they got funny & funnier. Enjoy the show, plus the stock info.

I love it — Howard you look fresher than Jay-Z.
(lets save that wardrobe for the Smithsonian)
Good job WS gang!

I’m glad you posted the link, since I didn’t know it was a parody of a parody.
I think Jack In The Box has a really unfortunate name that is not particularly appetizing to me, but I guess not everyone agrees with me if they’re hitting new stock highs. I also can’t complain about them too much since their Qdoba restaurant (Chipotle competitor) helped to sponsor our 3rd Annual Denver 24-Hour Comic Challenge this past year with delicious catering.
I’m guessing that JBX won’t be using your video for a commercial anytime soon. But, I know at least ONE employee who’s probably busy getting it out there!
Nice bling, Howard.

Never imagined I’d see Howard in place of Justin, but I think he pulls it off. Good stuff.
Trader-X // Jan 29, 2007 at 11:24 am
Howard didn’t even have to put on a costume for this video - he just wore his everyday clothes.
howard lindzon // Jan 29, 2007 at 11:25 am
Noah - Only my glasses are better than his. And that suit fit me on october 16 when we started the show. Like a great actor I bulked up for this role.
Like the animal I have become with food, I plan to keep it on

Want to say a very special thanks to Jason (http://ltmproductions.com/) and Amanda(http://thepeeledapple.blogspot.com/) ! Their sliky smooth sound & musical genius really made this show what it is!
howard lindzon // Jan 29, 2007 at 11:38 am
Shane of course came up with the idea and helped write it -

Mike // Jan 29, 2007 at 4:09 pm
Howard, Do you really expect us to believe you have an aunt named “Rhoda”? If you do, make sure you give her a big hug the next time you see her.
rhoda lindzon // Jan 29, 2007 at 4:47 pm
howard definitely has an aunt “rhoda”. i have proof to back up my claim as howard’s aunt. (this could get interesting)
ski // Jan 29, 2007 at 5:47 pm

Oh man - this was hilairous! It brought tears to my eyes…and not just because I sold the stock somewhere back in the 30s last year cuz I thought it was topping out!
Howard Lindzon // Jan 29, 2007 at 6:39 pm
Everybody has a cool aunt and mine is Rhoda. My first family member to comment so thanks Rhoda.
Thats cool.
Mike // Jan 29, 2007 at 7:40 pm
OK! Like a good trader, I admit when I am WRONG. Rhoda and Howard, please accept my apology for being STOOPID and WRONG!
Howard, you still have to give your aunt a big hug! It will do you more good than you know.

Lindsay and Howard, way to bring on the bodacious moves! Give me a ring if you need any back up on the next track…I’ve been known to get pretty funky with the right hot sauce and just wait ’til Jono and the Romanator bring on the relish!

Juxtaviews - » Howard Lindzon, Wallstrip - Interview // Feb 8, 2007 at 12:11 pm
[…] So what’s all the fuss? Wallstrip is a daily, well produced, irreverent introduction (see Adobe and “Jack in the Box”) to a new stock at it’s 52-week high. It’s Rocketboom for finance. (I’ve heard comparisons to SNL, but SNL is bad way too often. I didn’t want to put Wallstrip down like that). Wallstrip is popular because it’s both informative and entertaining. Plain and simple - it’s just good. […]
