            Although not physically addicting, Ambien definitely leads to a psychological dependence when used regularly. So, be certain that you don’t mind going there.

                        Ambien addict in alaska - you are dead on and it should not be dissed. ambien is highly addictive - at least in my case. I just have not had other side effects.

                                        To C. Maoxian: Ambien is over $3.00 per pill but will be available generically in Jan. 07. Most people will have run the course with the short-acting version by then and will need the long-acting variety which will, of course, NOT be avaiable as a generic for several years.

                                          i disagree. tried CR and never did it for me. regular ambien for me. can’t wait for the generic.

                                            Remember mother’s little helper well ambien is just another drug that doctors are finding is addictive as are benzodiazapines. Trust me. It took me 8 monthes to taper off of Valium (diazapam). When you do decide to stop taking ambien… be safe… with benzos and other sedatives depending on dosage and frequency of use you can honestly die from the withdrawal.

                                            I sound like a doctor… but hey, that was my experience with sedatives… addict to illegal and legal sedatives.

                                            I would recommend seroquil or trazadone. LOL. I’ve tried both. Currently using trazadone to combat the effects of weight gain from seroquil. But when i was taking seroquil there was this 15 minute window in which you either go to sleep or stay up eating. Hence the weight gain.

                                            In any event Lindsay and Howard… a regular sleep schedule eludes me and it’s comforting yet disturbing knowing I’m not alone ;)
