  • Peter Husan // Oct 20, 2006 at 8:51 am

    Honestly:

I am sure the dude from Dealbreaker is a great blogger, but I turned the clip off within 20 seconds of watching it– too boring.

I’d rather see an interview with a young, slender, female Flash– if you know what I mean.

  • howard lindzon // Oct 20, 2006 at 10:32 am

    Female flash - noted.

  • Patrick // Oct 20, 2006 at 11:53 am

Where was Michelle Leder?? We demand Footnoted.org!!

If this is your first time here take a look at the previous shows from this week:

    Day 1: Apple Computer (AAPL)
Day 2: Research in Motion (RIMM)
    Day 3: Chipolte (CMG)
    Day 4: Adobe Systems (ADBE)

    Great show. John did great.

    Note to John:

    Frankie says relax!

HL: Give John the Aleksey Vayner/Tony Montana motivation handbook prior to going on air. He may project a more forceful on screen presence by repeating such thoughts as:

I’m John Carney! You F with me, you effin’ with the best!

You know what? F you! How about that?

The only thing in this world that gives orders… is balls

What you lookin’ at? You all a bunch of effin’ a-holes. You know why? You don’t have the guts to be what you wanna be? You need people like me.

And my favorite, to ensure that all the viewers understand who is in charge, think this when you are on:

Another Quaalude, and she’ll be mine again.

    I like updated wardrobe.

  • boots // Oct 20, 2006 at 12:32 pm

So when do you go live? I think you could start with a half hour market wrap up from 3:30 to 4:00. Give that a few weeks to get going and then start a 9:00 to 9:30 “Get the Market Open” program. What does everybody think….does that sound good?

  • ParenthetiGal // Oct 20, 2006 at 12:46 pm

John doesn’t need a handbook before going on air. He needs a shot of Jamesons.

  • John Carney // Oct 20, 2006 at 12:51 pm

    Steve,

Thanks for the advice. Maybe I’ll hire Aleksey to give me media coaching lessons!

  • howard lindzon // Oct 20, 2006 at 1:08 pm

habers - see you in toronto

  • alexa // Oct 20, 2006 at 2:36 pm

Watching John Carney is like eating grilled cheese with extra cheese. Totally delicious. I want more.

  • David Minkin // Oct 20, 2006 at 3:53 pm

Excellent job all around–I look forward to next week’s Carney-Campbell showdown.

    Monday…old news and not funny

    Teusday..old news and not funny

Wednesday…Nothing new to anyone that heeds attention to the market but the show had much better flow and more polish.

Thursday… What was your point? To show how childish you can be or were you trying to get some kind of shock value, I would rather watch old reruns of Benny Hill…he was at least original in his humor and wit.

    Friday…Oh I get it now” ‘Wait no I don’t.

Wallstrip is a supposed mix of Comic strip like feel with company/stock information and then participants are to make comments and analaysis about the stock or company…Friday was like this in what way? What did I miss?

You got one more week…only because Trader Mike’s site and Brian S. from Alpha Trends are in your court and that means I could be missing something.

    mikey - no favors please.

  • Walter Ford // Oct 20, 2006 at 10:52 pm

I proudly admit that Lindsay is my granddaughter and I must say that she has done a great job on this new adventure. Good luck, Darling.

shoot - my son max just watched that and laughed. He has his own stuff planned for next week.

    That is great though. wow

  • Steven // Oct 20, 2006 at 11:25 pm

yeah I love the part where she says “your money dont make you better than me.” Cant go wrong with kids.

  • Michelle B. // Oct 21, 2006 at 8:46 am

That video was wonderful, who says kids are not human?

Carney was like a hot coal, heat slowly and steadily rising from red-hot to white-hot. Rather have an interveiw subject warm into his subject gradually, then him going full hog at the beginning and then petering out like a limp noodle. Think Campbell fanned the flames a bit with that black lacy tee shirt of hers.

  • ryan c // Oct 21, 2006 at 12:24 pm

The interviewer chic is hot, and i have no idea what they just talked about. :)

  • jvon // Oct 21, 2006 at 10:15 pm

Cut the guy some slack. As if any of you could be in the same room with her without feeling like you were going to hurl out of nervousness. I think you did great, John.

As for Lindsay: I think you could be the biggest thing since Michelle Malkin / Hot Air. The criticism here is off base.

  • flashpoint // Oct 22, 2006 at 3:44 am

Rocketboom for the Wall Street crowd…

Wallstrip, the new daily video blog featuring Lindsay Campbell, is Wall Street’s version of Rocketboom. Same formula as the old Rocketboom - simple set, man-on-the-street inteviews, a mix of tech topics and snippets of groaners from the internet. The …

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a guy so blatantly undress a girl with his eyes outside a nightclub like this guy. :)
