funny thing is the impact they have had on Burritoville.. 12pm on any given day at Chipolte on 52nd between Lex and 3rd Ave you have 100 burrito freaks while directly across the street at Burritoville there might be 5 customers.

Wild guess Chipolte has outgrown them 10x for essentially the same product and the same location. Something wrong with this picture?

  • howard lindzon // Oct 18, 2006 at 1:23 am

Nothing wrong with that picture. They execute flawlessly. The product is awesome and American are voting wit their mouths. i am no mecican food connoisser and have lost my ass in restaurant ventures but this one feels like it has legggs

BTW Mike won that contest - someone at HQ needs to slow that finish down for a rejugge.

  • Michael // Oct 18, 2006 at 1:31 am

    Mike sure did win.

I remember Cramer pronouncing it chi-po-tul on his show a while back. Damn gringos! :-)

  • C. Maoxian // Oct 18, 2006 at 4:47 am

    Cute show, another winner. Chee-pottle!

  • Kristie Ann // Oct 18, 2006 at 8:53 am

Really fun show and the Conversations were informative.I love your format. I had the exact positive experience the show captured so well, at a Chipotle out West and the burritos ARE delicious. Who knew Wallstrip would teach us to roll up the perfect burrito too? Keep up the great work, guys. I am becoming a Wallstrip regular!

    Ever visit a Moe’s?

Very similar to Chipotle, but privately held. Great food too.

  • Jeff Marks // Oct 18, 2006 at 9:26 am

This show is awful. It’s so terrible you shouldn’t even watch it just because you are now curious about how bad it really is. And I’m telling you it’s really bad, the worst, most horrible thing you’ve ever seen. So bad in fact that you migh tnot really believe how bad it is, unless you watch it. Which you shouldn’t do.

[…] (Also check out today’s episode of WallStrip - I think it’s the best one yet.) […]

Gee, how predictable. Thanks Howard for ignoring my comment yesterday when I correctly named Chipotle as today’s featured company. I’ll go back to my nerdery with my fellow nerds now.

  • Jeff Marks // Oct 18, 2006 at 9:43 am

Moe’s Sucks!!! But as an ex-L.A. resident, I do have a sweet spot for Baja Fresh

  • Josh // Oct 18, 2006 at 9:44 am

(They don’t allow to take mug shots in the nerdery.)
    :)
Ever heard or Qdoba? Very similar layout and concept to Chipotle but I think the burritos are better. The New York Times had an article about these two a few months ago…

  • howardlindzon // Oct 18, 2006 at 10:02 am

Josh - go reread the comments - I did say you won.

Send us an adress and te shirt is yours

    I wil check out qdoba

  • Susan Cammarata // Oct 18, 2006 at 10:07 am

Informative and funny. Lindsay is great!

  • Josh // Oct 18, 2006 at 10:10 am

    Saw that. Thanks Howard.

    Fun show, good job guys.

    Thanks.

I have cousins who LOVE Chipotle in VA, but I’ve not tried it myself.

Familiar w/ Tijuana Flats (tijuanaflats.com)? Spreading like wildfire in the past 2 to 3 years. Good food / interesting environment / great hot sauce bar.

I believe the story goes; Big time success from UCF students who made this their senior business project and failed the class.

“Moe’s Sucks!!! But as an ex-L.A. resident, I do have a sweet spot for Baja Fresh”

You suck and so does Baja fresh!

    Wanna fight?

  • howardlindzon // Oct 18, 2006 at 10:27 am

  • Broker A // Oct 18, 2006 at 10:43 am

    Let me guess:

Lindsay will be visiting the copper mines of Peru.

    PCU

  • Michael // Oct 18, 2006 at 10:48 am

I don’t like the food at Moe’s either but they’re extremely popular here in Atlanta - -and much of the Southeast. Their parent company, Raging Brands, has some other concepts that I love like Mama Fu’s, Doc Greens, Flying Biscuit & Boneheads. I’m waiting for those guys to IPO

  • howard lindzon // Oct 18, 2006 at 10:51 am

    Lindsay in peru -

thats the swimsuit show - good idea

But i will try and get her to the party!

Lindsay Campbell for President, Howard Lindzon for Vice P! (Mr. Campbell aka TraderX could be interviewed to be their limousine driver?)

Each show is better than the previous. How do you guys pull this quality stuff off consistently while making it look so effortless and fun?

  • dante's catharsis // Oct 18, 2006 at 1:38 pm

great show! i’ve lived all over the world, and indeed have consumed my fair share of REAL mexican food. and as many of us know, chipotle is NOT EVEN REMOTELY mexican.

but yet it’s sooooo damn good. why? do they put the mex-equivalent of MSG in the lineup? their gear has a certain je ne sais quoi that makes me humbly queue up there several times a week to get my fix… WHAT IS IT????

  • Dave Smith // Oct 18, 2006 at 1:44 pm

    Where’s the beef?

  • Howard Stanton // Oct 18, 2006 at 1:50 pm

Can’t imagine anything less interesting than watching fast food workers talk about how much fun it is to make Mexican food..

  • Nancy Bane // Oct 18, 2006 at 1:54 pm

    True. Where IS the beef?

  • Steven // Oct 18, 2006 at 2:53 pm

    >>I must be getting old, because I still don’t exactly understand what the name Wallstrip means exactly

  • Steven // Oct 18, 2006 at 2:55 pm

Here is my take to help others figure out WALLSTRIP:

WALL street: synonymous with all things stock market and financial related.

comic STRIP: short and visual media used to convey a message or meaning, either serious or funny, and sometime both at the same time.

    Therefore,

WALLSTRIP is a humorous and visual look at the serious subject of wall street using short video productions backed buy in-depth writtien analysis focusing on current trends.

  • howard lindzon // Oct 18, 2006 at 4:16 pm

Howard - we will miss you :)
STEVEN - Name was not taken for 6 bucks at go dadddy. Dominic bought it and asked me if I like it. I said it was cool. We had no intention of using it at the time for anything. Now I love it.

Steven - that is my new answer to the presss. Please send me an address to mail you a shirt and email me a release to use that genius answer in wikipedia when we become famous :)

  • samir // Oct 18, 2006 at 4:44 pm

    tomorrow’s show: TWX?
left field i know, but i wanna know why it climbing so?

  • Steven // Oct 18, 2006 at 4:58 pm

No problem HL will e-mail you in a bit.

BTW the true genius was coming up with the concept/idea. I just articulated it in a way easy to understand as it seems that poeple just are not making the connection.

    Pretty simple actully:

    Watch the video, read the analysis;

    Watch the video, read the analysis;

Watch the video, read the analysis.

That is why the video has to be spot on, its the eye candy that makes me want to read more about the company.

You should license the videos to brokers as a time saver.

Broker: Mr. Smith, Hi Broker Bob here, I got a great stock you should be in.

High Net-Worth Customer: Really what is it.

    Broker: CMG.

    Charlie: Never heard of it.

Broker: It is a really hot new resturant concept.

    Charlie: What do they sell?

    Broker: Burritos!!

Charlie: Burritos?? I dont get it, does not Tabo Bell sell burritos already?

Broker: Different concept, here let me show you (cut to the Wallstrip video clip).

Customer: Now I get it. Hey I like the vibe and energy, get me 5,000 of them there shares of CMG.

    Broker: No problem!!

(fade out as Broker is alredy thinking about how to spend his x-mas bonus).

  • howard lindzon // Oct 18, 2006 at 5:03 pm

samir - you are unfortunately as far off as pluto my friend but thanks for playing.

TWX - are they still around :) (that is good for a 5 point rise tomorrow)

The show is about stocks just at or near alltime highs

  • howard lindzon // Oct 18, 2006 at 5:05 pm

steven - theya re free to use the videos as long as they dont say we recomemnd the stock. i only recommend that the companies we are showing are in the public consciousness in such a way that they have to SCREW UP. Obviously they do.

I am not interested in companies that have screwed up and need to reprove themselves. I dont have enough time or money or patience.

it s just a style thing but thats what makes marlets

  • howard lindzon // Oct 18, 2006 at 5:06 pm

  • C. Hetrick // Oct 18, 2006 at 7:57 pm

this site is brutal - good thing its free

  • Skeptic // Oct 18, 2006 at 9:42 pm

Fluffy. What is this, a white label Revver player with an Amanda C. wannabe and Diggnation style beverages? At least the Diggnation guys have the class to drink beer in a bottle. I care about where the chicken comes from and I drink beer in a can? Not likely!

I seriously thought I was going to learn something about the stock market watching this. How silly of me.

  • Adam Elend // Oct 19, 2006 at 12:08 am

septic, you should read the conversation if you want to learn something.

And the first time, the beer was in a bottle… but the greenscreen showed through. Pretty cool effect.
